Jessica Marie, Founder of The Misconstrued
What I needed but couldn’t always find is at the heart of this work:
Grounded, identity-affirming support that’s culturally aware, and deeply honest. Here you don’t have to prove anything to belong, and growth doesn’t mean losing who you are.
For years, I lived in places where polished performance was expected, where grace and composure were the norm, but emotional honesty was quietly off-limits. I learned how to keep it together, even when I didn’t feel fully seen or understood. I wasn’t broken. I was just out of touch with myself. I carry the lessons and connections from those environments with me, even as I choose to live more honestly and grounded.
Now, I support people who’ve played their roles too well. Those who take care of others but struggle to care for themselves. Those praised for their calm but who haven’t felt truly met or seen in a long time. Those trying to balance who they are with who they’ve been asked to be. I help them come home to their bodies, their clarity, and their quiet power.
This isn’t about tearing everything down.
It’s about unraveling the idea that your worth depends on always being composed.
I believe transformation happens when people feel fully seen, supported, and empowered to advocate for themselves. My coaching integrates somatic practices, such as breathwork, and guidance rooted in lived experience to foster growth that is both personal and collective.
I've guided women, leaders, and men through journeys of healing, self-advocacy, and conscious relationship-building. Drawing from years of experience in professional and personal development, I help clients create meaningful change in their lives and communities.
I offer one-on-one coaching sessions, group coaching, workshops and retreats. My areas of expertise include career coaching, stress management, relationship coaching, and personal development. Contact me today to learn more about my services.
I work with people navigating complex identities, pressures, and life transitions, especially those who feel unseen, unheard, or stuck. Some examples include:
No matter the source, whether family, culture, class, or career, the pressure to hold it together can disconnect us from ourselves. This coaching helps you return to your clarity and power.
This work is for people navigating the tension between who they’ve been expected to be, and who they actually are. Whether shaped by family legacy, cultural pressure, public visibility, or gendered expectations, you may have learned to carry power quietly, or perform wholeness while feeling disconnected. Here, we make space for something different.
My approach blends emotional insight, somatic awareness, and grounded presence. This is not therapy, but it is deep and reflective work — a space to integrate, reset, and reconnect with the clarity that has always been yours.
