"Power lives in the quiet you clear."

Jessica Marie, Founder of The Misconstrued

Why I Created This Space

What I needed but couldn’t always find is at the heart of this work: a space that feels grounded, culturally conscious, and welcoming — where you don’t have to prove anything to belong, and growth doesn’t mean losing yourself.

For years, I lived in places where polished performance was expected, where grace and composure were the norm, but emotional honesty was quietly off-limits. I learned how to keep it together, even when I didn’t feel fully seen or understood. I wasn’t broken. I was just out of touch with myself. I carry the lessons and insights from those environments with me, even as I choose to live more authentically and grounded.

This space is for the people who often go unseen — whether you’ve built your way forward from humble beginnings, or quietly carry responsibility within an influential family or network. It’s for anyone who’s played their role too well, cared for others while forgetting themselves, or balanced who they are with who they’ve been asked to be. Here, you can come home to your body, your clarity, and the quiet power that’s always been yours.

This isn’t about tearing everything down.

It’s about unraveling the idea that your worth depends on always being composed  — and discovering how to move through the world with presence, agency, and authenticity.

About The Misconstrued

My Philosophy

I believe transformation happens when people feel fully seen, supported, and welcomed to honor their own path. My coaching integrates somatic practices, such as breathwork, and guidance rooted in lived experience to foster growth that is both personal and collective.

My Experience

I’ve guided individuals and leaders through journeys of healing, self-advocacy, and conscious relationship-building. Drawing on experience in politics, advocacy, and movement building, along with personal insight into influential family networks, I help those I guide step fully into their power, embrace their influence, and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives, families, and communities.

My Services

I offer one-on-one coaching, group sessions, workshops, and retreats — each designed to help you strengthen relationships, sharpen strategic thinking, and navigate life and work with authority and impact. Every session is tailored to your journey, blending reflection, practical exercises, and guidance to foster lasting transformation. Reach out today to explore how we can work together.

Who I Support

I work with people navigating complex identities, pressures, and life transitions, especially those who feel unseen, unheard, or stuck. Some examples include:

  • Children of immigrants exploring identity, duty, and self-trust
  • Individuals from high-pressure or high-profile families seeking grounded clarity
  • Professionals who appear successful but feel emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck
  • People who’ve survived by staying silent or small, and are ready to reclaim their voice and power

No matter the source, whether family, culture, class, or career, the pressure to hold it together can disconnect us from ourselves. This coaching helps you come back to your clarity and power.

What I Offer

This work is for people navigating the tension between who they’ve been expected to be, and who they actually are. Whether shaped by family legacy, cultural pressure, public visibility, or gendered expectations, you may have learned to carry power quietly, or perform wholeness while feeling disconnected. Here, we make space for something different.

  • Supporting the untangling of personal, familial, and systemic patterns
Whether you’re carrying intergenerational expectations, cultural pressure, or the quiet weight of legacy, we work together to name what has shaped you and clarify what no longer needs to.
  • Setting boundaries rooted in self-trust
Especially for those taught to accommodate power in families, institutions, or relationships, this is about learning to trust your "no" as much as your "yes."
  • Releasing people-pleasing and perfectionism
Many people I work with have been praised for holding it all together. Here, we explore who you are without the mask and how to move through the world with more honesty, ease, and presence.
  • Reconnecting with your body, voice, and inner clarity
Power, whether systemic or relational, often shows up in the body as silence, tension, or disconnection. Using somatic tools and reflective practices, you’re invited to reconnect with yourself on a deeper level, exploring the clarity and presence that’s already within you.
  • Navigating visibility, leadership, and change with integrity
Whether you are stepping into public life, shifting a generational pattern, or quietly choosing a new path, I support you in moving forward without abandoning yourself.

My approach blends emotional insight, somatic awareness, and grounded presence. This is not therapy, but it is deep and reflective work — a space to integrate, reset, and reconnect with the clarity and power that has always been yours.
